Samsung A07 Review

Samsung has quietly launched one of the most important budget phones of 2025; the Galaxy A07. This phone is here to have a say in the budget price range. But is this new A07 just a new name and number or is it really here to compete with the rest of the budget phones on the market? In our Samsung A07 review, we want to see what this phone has to say and whether it is worth buying compared to the previous generation and other competitors on the market or not.

Samsung A07 Design Review

In terms of design, the Galaxy A07 has a simple and minimalist look, which is quite acceptable for a budget phone. To keep the price down, Samsung has used plastic in the frame and back panel. With dimensions of 164.4 x 77.4 x 7.6 mm and a weight of 184 grams, this phone is relatively thin and light and feels good in the hand.
One of the cosmetic changes that may not be appealing to some is the teardrop or U-shaped notch for the selfie camera at the top of the display. In a world where punch-hole notches are becoming common, by keeping the U-shaped notch, Samsung somehow shows that the A07 is still considered a budget phone and that you can’t expect more from this cheap phone. In terms of color, the A07 is available in three colors – black, dark green, and purple, which is a good variety.

But a big improvement in the design department is the addition of the IP54 standard. This standard means that the phone is resistant to dust and splashes of water, which is an important advantage over previous A0 series models. This feature gives more peace of mind to users who are concerned about daily use and exposing the phone to moisture or dust. In terms of appearance, I don’t see any other special changes in this phone.

Samsung A07 Display Review

The display is one area where Samsung has taken a big step forward with the A07. The phone features a 6.7-inch PLS LCD display. While using an LCD panel instead of OLED panels helps keep the price down, the main selling point of the display is its 90Hz refresh rate.

This refresh rate is the biggest improvement the A07’s display has over its predecessor, the A06, which had a 60Hz refresh rate. The 90Hz rate makes everyday usage, especially when scrolling through web pages or social media, much smoother and more enjoyable. This is a key feature in budget phones. On the other hand, the display resolution is HD+ or 720 x 1600 pixels, which is not a high pixel density for a 6.7-inch display (about 262 pixels per inch), and details may not be as sharp as Full HD displays.

But these choices show a smart strategy. By offering a 90Hz refresh rate, Samsung has entered into serious competition with Chinese brands like Xiaomi and Poco, as this feature has long become a standard in their budget phones. This change has made this budget phone look good in the display department and is no less than its other competitors.

Samsung A07 Battery Review

In the battery department, the Samsung A07 is offered with a capacity of 5000 mAh, which is a standard and very good capacity for a smartphone. With the power-efficient 6nm Helio G99 chipset and HD+ display, you can expect a very good battery life from this phone, easily lasting a full day or more with normal use.
The interesting thing is that Samsung has equipped this budget phone with 25W fast charging. While many budget phones come with lower charging speeds (10 or 15W), supporting 25W charging is a significant advantage for the A07 and allows the user to charge the phone in less time. This has also helped this Samsung phone outperform its competitors in the battery department. Of course, you have to buy a 25W charger separately.

Samsung A07 Camera Review

In the camera department, the Samsung Galaxy A07 uses a 50-megapixel main sensor and an 8-megapixel selfie sensor. The main camera can capture acceptable photos due to the f/1.8 aperture and supports 1080p resolution with frame rates of 30 or 60 frames per second for video recording.

The second sensor is a 2-megapixel depth sensor that is not very useful and helps somewhat with subject recognition in portrait photos. In general, you cannot count on this phone for photography, like other budget phones on the market.

Samsung A07 Hardware Review

The Samsung A07 is equipped with the MediaTek Helio G99 chip, which can be said to be the beating heart and the biggest trump card of this phone. This chip is manufactured with a 6-nanometer manufacturing process, which is a significant improvement over the previous generation Helio G85 chip (A06) with a 12-nanometer manufacturing process. This difference in the manufacturing process means greater efficiency and higher processing power. The G99 chip, with more powerful processing cores (two Cortex-A76 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores), has about 25% better CPU performance and 35% better GPU performance compared to the G85.

The phone performs smoothly and without lag in everyday tasks such as web browsing, social media browsing, and running light applications. However, one should have realistic expectations from this phone. The A07 is not a phone for running heavy 3D games at the highest graphics settings and will encounter frame drops and slowdowns. Samsung has offered this phone in various configurations in terms of RAM and internal storage, from 4 to 8 GB of RAM and 64 to 256 GB of internal storage, which leaves the user with a choice.

Samsung A07 User Interface Review

Without a doubt, the biggest and most unique selling point of the Galaxy A07 is its software update policy. The phone comes with Android 15 and One UI 7.0 out of the box. But here’s the amazing part; Samsung has promised six years of OS updates and six years of security updates for this budget phone.

This update policy is completely unprecedented in the A07 price range and a huge competitive advantage. In comparison, the previous generation of this phone, the A06, received only two OS updates. Long-term software support means increased phone lifespan, improved security, and access to new features for years. This part and long-term software support are one of the positive and attractive points of this budget phone.
Samsung A07 Speaker Review
In terms of speakers, the Galaxy A07 has a mono (single-channel) speaker. This is a common feature in this price range and we should not expect stereo sound quality from it. But when it comes to other features, Samsung has not skimped. The phone is equipped with a USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is still an important feature for many users.

Is the Samsung A07 worth buying?

Now we come to the main question; considering the price of the Samsung Galaxy A07 at around $90, is this phone worth buying or not? First of all, if we compare the A07 with its predecessor, the A06, the A07 is a huge and quite noticeable improvement. From the more powerful and optimized Helio G99 chip to the smooth 90Hz display and most importantly, the revolutionary software update policy, the A07 is clearly worth buying more than its predecessor. But considering its price and the economical 720 display as well as the moderately powerful chip, Xiaomi phones are more attractive options in this segment, but if you are looking to buy a budget phone for long-term use without any hassle, this Samsung option is very attractive and practical.
